TopVet: Ed Roski, Jr., Vietnam Vet and Real Estate Developer

Ed Roski, Jr.

Ed Roski is a mover and shaker in the Byzantine world of Los Angeles and Las Vegas real estate.

After four years in the Marine Corps, he returned in 1966 from the jungles of Vietnam to work in the family business: Majestic Realty Company, founded by his father in 1948, of which he is now President and CEO.

Over the years, this Oklahoma City-born builder has made his fortune constructing office complexes and industrial parks, transforming Majestic into the largest industrial developer and commercial real estate operation in Southern California.

He is the force behind the Staples Center, the $400 million sports mecca that is an anchor in the revitalization of downtown Los Angeles and houses the Los Angeles Kings hockey team, which he owns with Denver investor Phil Anschutz; the Los Angeles Lakers basketball squad, in which he has an interest; and the Los Angeles Clippers basketball club.

He is also the owner of the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel and Casino, which Majestic recently purchased for $365 Million.

Military & Veterans Life

Cover Story: How & Why WeSalute Was Founded 25 Years Ago

WeSalute founders Scott and Lin Higgins have spent a lifetime in the military community, from Scott’s combat service in Vietnam and the service of Lin’s father in WWII, to serving families and veterans through the creation of memorials and parades as part of charitable and government initiatives. It was this lifetime of service that led them to establish WeSalute, originally founded as Veterans Advantage, and to continue giving back.
