SDGA participates in Welcome Home Golf Tournament, providing military personnel with information about the Golf Academy of America programs and special services.
Camp Pendleton, CA (PRWEB) August 1, 2009 -- The Welcome Home Golf Tournament recently hosted at Camp Pendleton, Cali., saw outstanding support from the Golf Academy of America (http://www.golfacademy.edu/). Several members of the academy’s San Diego campus, including Director of Admissions Henry Salgado and Program Director Buck Page, participated in the tournament.
As the Golf Academy of America schools have begun a renewed emphasis on making military personnel aware of the programs offered at the various campuses, the tournament was perfect for addressing the new golf programs and expressing gratitude to the Marines.
The event gave the Golf Academy of America an opportunity to update military veterans about special services and programs offered to veterans by Golf Academy of America while simultaneously being able to interact with the individuals at the Corps.
"The best part was to be able to play with Colonel Steven Hanson, a veteran of thirty years with the U.S. Marine Corps," says Salgado.
Additionally, the school provides a special information center manned by people who are available to answer questions specific to military educational benefits and how they might be applied toward preparing for a career in the business of golf. The new programs are geared to the needs of the job market, and perfect for many service members when they transition back to civilian life‹or those who have already left military service. Camp Pendleton is the Marine Corps’ largest West Coast expeditionary training facility, encompassing more than 125,000 acres of Southern California terrain. As it contains the largest undeveloped portion of coastline in Southern California, the location was ideal for the Welcome Home Golf Tournament.
The Golf Academy of America is the first and foremost two-year college helping students gain the skills and education needed to succeed in a golf career. The program offers a strong foundation of instruction and management for the golf enthusiast. Participating in events and tournaments such as the Welcome Home Golf Tournament is just one more way the Academy elates their desire to reach out to driven individuals wanting to excel in golf and in their career.
