Scott’s View: V-J Day 78 Years Later - The Joy of World Peace

Next Monday is Labor Day weekend, but did you know that Saturday, September 2 is VJ Day? It’s the 78th anniversary of the end of the war in the Pacific, effectively ending World War II. Our nation sent 16 million Americans, about 11% of our population at the time, to fight during World War II. We lost over 400,000 men and women who fought to protect the freedoms that our nation continues to enjoy today.

Today’s Cover Story is a lighthearted story about the iconic photo of the sailor kissing the nurse in Times Square when peace was finally at hand. I think you’ll enjoy it!
