Scott's View: Remembering our WWII Veterans this D-Day
Scott Higgins, WeSalute Co-founder & Co-CEO
If you are like me, you may have at least one WWII Veteran in your family tree. Because of this legacy of service, as well as my own service in the Vietnam War, D-Day week serves as a welcome reminder of the willing sacrifices American soldiers made for our freedom so many years ago on June 6, 1944.
This is a subject near and dear to us, as Lin and I attended a special D-Day commemoration in France three years ago. So many Americans and other Allied Forces gave their lives to liberate millions from Hitler’s Nazi Party. Though 73 years have passed, D-Day is frozen in history as one of the greatest military triumphs America has ever known.
A sampling of our Facebook fans says it all:
For those who served during that pivotal time in American history, including those who made the ultimate sacrifice, we give our sincere thanks.
