Scott's View: Winter Tips and Remembering Operation Desert Storm

Operation Desert Storm

As we move into the New Year and the hustle and bustle of the holidays are behind us, for those of us in colder climes this is the time to plan a getaway to escape the blast of winter. For instance, you can fly to Puerto Rico on JetBlue or book a discounted hotel room near Disneyland in Orlando. Or love the snow? You can get great savings on discounted ski lift tickets for a ski weekend getaway.

Valentine's Day is just around the corner, so save on your flowers or gifts from 1800Flowers today with your VetRewards Exclusives--you can lock in the best delivery times when you book in advance.

This month marks the 26th anniversary of the start of the Gulf War's second combat phase in response to Iraq's invasion of Kuwait codenamed Operation Desert Storm, a massive U.S.-led air offensive that raged from 17 January 1991 through 11 April 1991. We need to thank our veterans who served in Operation Desert Storm, care for our wounded veterans, and remember the families of those 149 service members who made the ultimate sacrifice in this early Middle East conflict.
