RECYCLE YOUR OLD CELL PHONE TO HELP THE TROOPS-- AND NOW CARTRIDGES, LAPTOPS, & PDA'S TOO!-

how to give those serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom
the Welcome Home! they deserve:
Recycle
& Reward (R&R) is a program supported by Veterans
Advantage to deliver new service benefits to thank and
reward our troops.
R&R has partnered with a recycler that will accept other items in addition to used cell phones to raise funds for our Recycle & Reward program. R&R will now collect:
- empty inkjet printer and toner cartridges
- used laptop computers
- old Palm Pilots, and PDA’s
- used cell phones
Note: These items all contain toxic elements that are environmentally hazardous if they are simply discarded and buried in our landfills.
Cartridges: You can send your old empty inkjet and toner cartridges from any major brand printer except toner “tubes” and Epson inkjets (Epson laser cartridges are fine.) Put them back into their original boxes or wrap in newspaper and put in a plastic bag to ship to us.
Laptops: You can send your old laptop for R&R as long as it is in fair condition (ripped or broken screens have no value.) Please include the old power cord and other accessories and insert all into plastic bags before boxing up with bubble wrap or newspaper wrapping. Don’t worry about any old content on the hard drive. Our recycling partner has a Department of Defense certified program that wipes the information off all the hard drives, so any old records will be erased.
Palm Pilots: You can send your old Palm Pilot for R&R if it has a color screen. Please include the old power cord and any additional accessories. Of greatest value to our Recycle & Reward program is used Palm Pilots that were designed to also function as cell phones. Please put in a plastic bag and wrap with padding like bubble wrap or old newspaper to protect during shipping.
Cell Phones: Make sure you deactivate your service before sending an old phone. R&R cannot be held responsible for unauthorized use of an active phone.

Sending a lot of stuff? Our recycler will pay for your shipment!
For all shipments of 20 items or more, our recycler will send you a pre-paid FedEx shipping label. Each label can ship up to 30lbs worth of items. If you have more than 30 lbs, use multiple boxes with a separate shipping label for each box.
Simply call our recycling partner at 800-845-8851 to have pre-paid Fed Ex labels sent to you. Please identify yourself as a supporter of the Veterans Advantage Recycle & Reward program. Then collect all your old cartridges, cell phones, laptops and PDAs in a box (ask other family and friends for their used stuff too) and when you have at least 20 items, send them to us using the instructions below.
To send a FedEx prepaid shipment for Recycle & Reward, please follow these 3 easy steps:
1. Call 1-800-845-8851 and request a Veterans Advantage pre-paid shipping label be sent to you.
2. Box up your old items with some kind of padding like newspaper or bubble wrap to prevent breakage, and affix one of the pre-paid FedEx labels to each box being shipped. (Do not photocopy labels--each label is unique and copies are invalid).
3. Call FedEx at 1-888-777-6040 and tell them you would like to arrange for the following pickup: "PRP Return Manager Pickup" Account Number: 0253877.
