Veterans Advantage respects your right to privacy and adheres to the highest standards in protecting your personal information. We strive to secure a level of trust and confidence that is matches the code of honor and integrity with which our customers, who are military members and veterans, have served our country.
We ask that you make it a practice of reading privacy statements on all Web sites you use, even the sites of our partner companies, and especially in instances when you may have been attracted to sites that market offers of ‘free military benefits’ or ‘free’ services. A multitude of these businesses are able to provide low-cost or ‘free’ benefits or military savings because they profit from the data they gather from their users. In some instances, the very act of using their site or a related company site, may be giving them ‘explicit’ permission for your data to be sold to third parties.
Veterans Advantage’s fee-based services provide us the revenue and resources to bring you military benefits with the highest levels of privacy protection, and without the need to compromise your Personal Identifiable Information (PII) or sell data to outside parties. This is one important reason for using paid services, especially when your fees are delivering you a higher level of identity protection.
You can be assured of our commitment to protecting your PII. We have 100% ownership and control of the use of our data, and it will not be sold, rented, or shared with outside parties, including our partners, or used other than for our own membership purposes and administration.
Our partners provide preferred pricing in exchange for having their products and services marketed to Veterans Advantage members. We may provide space online to our partners and links to other Web sites. These are not advertisements, but you may end up visiting those sites, and giving them personal information. Once you do that, you are on your own. Veterans Advantage is not responsible for the content or the privacy policies of these outside Web sites, nor are we responsible for the security of information users may choose to provide these other sites.
1. The Information We Gather and How We Gather It
All personal information is kept strictly confidential; we do not sell, rent or share your personal information or personal data with Veterans Advantage partners or any other party. Our Web servers gather member IP addresses both to help diagnose service problems and for systems administration. IP addresses are also sometimes used to gather broad demographic data.
We use a standard Internet technology called "cookies" to store and track visitor information. A cookie is a small text file that is automatically stored on your computer for future retrieval. Cookies allow us to count the number of unique visitors to the site, to measure traffic patterns on our site, personalize a user experience and facilitate the login for registered members.
To process your member enrollment, we ask you for common information, including your name and valid e-mail address to deliver instructions on access to member benefits. We also require a mailing address to ship the member Welcome Kit to ensure delivery of your VetRewards Card and printed Benefits Directory, and specific information related to the military service of the qualifying Veteran, Active Duty Service Member and National Guard or Reservist, such as branch of service to be printed on your identification card.
Certain other features such as "Know a Vet? Refer a Vet" may also require us to collect PII to provide service, such as the name and e-mail address of both the sender and the recipient.
To enroll, we may request certain personal information in verifying your enrollment. You are required to affirm you or your family member's military credentials in this application. There are severe criminal penalties for fraud under Federal Statutes of the U.S. Penal Code. If we find evidence of misrepresentation or abuse, we will inform the appropriate authorities.
2. How We Use and Disclose Your Information
We may provide third parties with aggregate statistics about traffic patterns, and related site information. This data reflects site usage patterns gathered during thousands of visits to our Web site each month, but does not contain behavioral or PII about any individual member.
We request the minimum amount of personal information to verify your eligibility for our services, and it is used solely for the stated purposes. We do not require highly sensitive PII such as your social security number, or government records that may contain highly sensitive PII. In the unusual event that this is the only way to authenticate your eligibility, this information will be immediately destroyed after it is used solely for this purpose.
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information about you with third parties, except to fulfill products and services you have requested from us that are produced in contracts with our vendors, or when we have your explicit permission. Our vendors operate under our contracts which include confidentiality agreements that do not grant them independent rights to use, sell, rent or otherwise share personal information, except in circumstances when we have been given explicit permission from you to expressly do so with any such vendor.
We may enter into marketing agreements with partner companies for program benefits. We evaluate such partners to identify products and services and create benefits that serve the needs of our members. We cannot and do not, however, make any representations about the practices and policies of these companies.
3. How Do You Opt In or Opt Out or Deactivate Your Account?
You agree to opt-in to Veterans Advantage e-mail updates when you enroll and, by doing so, agree to our terms and conditions of use, or register to use the Web site. In our communications, we may email or mail you notifications about important changes to our Web site, new benefits, and special offers.
You have the option to opt out of receiving these updates. This opt-out messaging will appear at the bottom of the e-mail sent to you. Veterans Advantage gives you the option to deactivate or remove all your information, at any time, from our member records. If you don't want to receive any form of direct contact from us, phone submit your request to deactivate or delete your account.
4. How Do You Change Your Information Profile?
In order to ensure that the information we maintain is accurate and up-to-date, Veterans Advantage gives members the option to change or modify any information you previously provided. To do this, login to YOUR ACCOUNT at VeteransAdvantage.com.
5. Violation of Law, Rule, or Regulation
The conditions enumerated above will not apply in the event that you engage in certain improper conduct. Specifically, we shall have the right to use or release to third parties the PII of users who use this or any other site on the Internet for any fraudulent purpose, or who otherwise violate any law, rule, or regulation, or who engage in conduct which Veterans Advantage deems improper.
6. How Do We Protect Children Who Visit Our Site?
We will not collect PII from children (e.g., under the age of 13). Where appropriate, we will take reasonable measures to inform children NOT to submit such information to our site or in response to advertisements on our site. 7. Security for Online Purchases and Transmission of Information

By clicking on the logo, you can be assured that the site you are on is our legitimate website, rather than a clone set up to collect your personal and financial information.
We utilize the latest encryption/security software to safeguard the confidentiality of personal information required in our online forms to verify service and process orders. This software serves to provide a degree of protection against unauthorized access or disclosure, as well as accidental loss, alteration, or destruction.
