RECYCLE
YOUR OLD USED CELL PHONE AND HELP US "WELCOME HOME"
NATIONAL GUARD AND RESERVE WHO HAVE SERVED TO DEFEND
OUR FREEDOMS

Are
you on board? Here's how:
 |
What
is "Welcome Home?":
Welcome
Home! has been established so you may participate
in this special effort to thank our Guard and
Reserves for their service in Operation Iraqi
Freedom. Recycling old cell phones is a way to
provide financial support for effort at no real
"out of pocket" cost to you or the companies
who are campaign sponsors.
The recycling of old cell phone will raise the
needed funds for the Welcome Home! to thank our
Guard and Reserve for their service. It provides
the funds to Employers United for a Stronger America
(EUSA). EUSA has been established to lead the
Welcome Home! Campaign and provide financial support
for other initiatives of ESGR (Employer Support
for Guard and Reserve), the 31 year-old Department
of Defense Agency.

How It Works:

Individuals
not associated with an organization may send their used
phones to: Welcome Home! Campaign, c/o Veterans Advantage, Recycle & Reward c/o Veterans Advantage Source Code: GRN 2555 Bishop Circle West Dexter, MI 48130. Please use
a padded envelope to protect your phone from damage
to its components, which might prevent your old phone
from being recycled.
Typically, about 25% of all used phones cannot be recycled,
and those that are collected in this campaign will be
properly disposed of in accordance with U.S. environmental
regulations and procedures. Welcome Home! will refurbish
and resell the phones that are recyclable, using the
largest recycler in the nation.
The net resale proceedswill be used to purchase Veterans Advantage Cards
for demobilized Guard and Reserve, providing them new
service benefits from top U.S. Corporations.
In addition, 20% of the proceeds will be donated to
EUSA to support their other outreach programs on behalf
of the Guard and Reserves. CLICK

Why:
It is important for you to recycle your old phone and
join us in a thanks to the "citizen soldiers"
in our Guard and Reserve military.
The Guard and Reserve now represent half of our military
forces in the U.S. Not only must these men and women face wartime duty,
they also must leave their careers on hiatus and fret
over their family finances. Although paid by the military,
they often receive far less than they were earning in
civilian life, and they may lose important employer
provided benefits.
Thanking our Guard and Reserve troops is an activity
that serves to recognize the service and sacrifice of
our active duty Guard & Reserves, and highlight
the importance of support from America's employers.
In addition, the recycling of these potentially toxic
items--both cell phones and ink cartridges-- will keep
them from contaminating our waste stream and helps our
environment.
When:
Now. Welcome Home! is focused on thanking them
as they are demobilized. Please grab that old phone
and give it today!
