 When
you join Veterans Advantage, as a U.S. Veteran, Active
Duty Military, National Guard or Reservist, and receive
a Veterans Advantage Veteran Card, you are
eligible to receive special offers as a reward from
Amtrak.
As
a Veterans Advantage Veteran Cardholder, you are
entitled to receive 15% Everyday Savings*
on Amtrak travel. This is a "flash and save" program
for our members, available anyway, everyday. Your
discount will be 15% off the best available rail
fare on Amtrak at any time (Other Amtrak programs
frequently offer discounts only on listed fares.)
Our benefit also allows you to upgrade for accommodation
services. For instance, you are eligible for 15%
OFF when you upgrade to first class, business or
sleeper and pay the full accommodation charge.
The
Veterans Advantage 15% Everyday Savings is
available every day of the year with NO BLACKOUT
PERIODS AND NO ADVANCE PURCHASE REQUIREMENTS. Just
show your card at any Amtrak ticket counter or call
Amtrak at 1-877-872-7245 to travel now or reserve
for future travel.
Veterans
Advantage members who book the AutoTrain are eligible
for 10% off the auto portion of your fare,
not the rail fare. (Amtrak's Seniors Program no longer
includes an AutoTrain discount.)
KIDS
RIDE HALF FARE: Amtrak's Everyday Savings program
has a children's discount which offers great savings
for Veterans' families. Kids, ages 2-15, ride half-price
off the regular adult fare when accompanied by
an adult, any day, everyday.
Children
must be accompanied by the Veterans Advantage member,
and each adult in your party may bring two children
along with this half-price discount. One child under
the age of two rides free with each adult ticket
purchased.
