Veterans Day 2003: Join a Full Day of Special Events That Veterans Advantage has Planned to Thank You for Your Service Plus Win Special Prizes!

Veterans Day is always a special day for all who have worn a uniform and served our country, especially in New York City, which hosts one of the country’s largest military museums and parades in the country.

And, in keeping with tradition, Veterans Advantage once again is proud to be playing a key role at both venues this year.

VIP speakers, guests and entertainers are on tap, as are refreshments. (Here's a sampling of last year's Veterans Day)

All Veterans Advantage members and their families are invited to attend, and get to meet others in our membership community. We also welcome all to bring their used cellular phones for donation to our Recycle & Reward Recycling Campaign.

Here’s an outline of what to expect.

Veteran’s Day Activities, Ceremony & Reception
Aboard the Intrepid 3pm-8 pm plus Door Prizes!

New York’s Veterans Day Parade starts at 11 a.m. and proceeds up 5th Avenue. After the parade, head to the Intrepid Museum for special Veterans Day activities, and a Veterans Day drawing of FREE gifts from Dell, Amtrak and Reebok, our partner companies who wish to honor our nation’s Veterans.

Veterans Advantage members are normally eligible for a Intrepid museum discount on entrance fees and 10% off at the museum store. Intrepid Museum Admission will be FREE for all Veterans on November 11th.

Program of events:

3-5 p.m. Enroll in the special drawing and spend the afternoon on the Intrepid.
The Intrepid is the world’s largest Naval Museum, a decommissioned aircraft carrier on whose decks men fought and died for the ideals of this nation. Visit the flight deck, with over thirty aircraft on display, or explore the ship’s cavernous hangar deck, where new exhibits give a view of the high tech hardware being developed to defend our future.

Several special Veterans Day booths will be on the hanger deck presenting information and offers of interest to Veterans and their families.

5-8 p.m. Attend the Intrepid Veterans Day "In Honor" Ceremony and Reception. Veterans Advantage will help host the program with several distinguished speakers and honored guests, including Keynote Speaker General Vincent Brooks. This ceremony recognizing the contributions of our nation’s veterans will include a 21-gun salute, national anthem and playing of taps in a memorial wreath laying ceremony.

A reception with free refreshments and special Patriots Concert will follow the Ceremony and the winners of the drawing will be announced. Veterans Advantage will be giving away the following door prizes from our partners who wish to honor Veterans on this special day:

• two Acela tickets, valued at $500 and good for one year, from Amtrak
• two newly released DELL DJ 15 Digital Music Players, which store over 3,700 songs and are featured at $249 from Dell Computer
• $50 worth of Shopping Coupons from Reebok Outlets
• a $40 Entertainment Package from Working Advantage, which includes 2 AMC movie tickets, free popcorn and two free sodas
