Veterans Advantage Inc., a nationwide membership program providing new service benefits for U.S. Veterans, National Guard, Reservists, supports the White House efforts to inform seniors of the prescription drug discount coverage available to them, such as the free benefit card offered to all members of Veterans Advantage.
"The skyrocketing cost of prescription drugs creates enormous burdens on our seniors. Like President Bush, we believe that prescription drug discount cards can provide some financial relief, until a longer-term solution is put in place, said Scott Higgins, President of Veterans Advantage. Veterans Advantage is committed to doing its part to help offset these burdensome costs for all who serve our country and their families."
All Veterans Advantage members will receive a Free family drug discount card with their Veterans Advantage membership. The personalized card is provided at no extra charge to a modest annual membership fee, which entitles members to over 20 other benefits. There is no paperwork to file, co-pays or fees associated with the drug discount card.
"We are committed to making prescription drug shopping as simple as possible for our members, and offer them considerable savings," added Higgins. "The card is currently covered at over 50,000 pharmacies nationwide, and all of our members are eligible for this free benefit from Veterans Advantage."
Veterans Advantage Proposes Prescription Drug Plan as Medicare alternative for Veteran health care support
"Using our ‘Open Arms’ approach—offering eligibility to all branches of service, economic or health status, and their family members, Veterans Advantage is positioned to be the only organization of its kind to fill the gap for this underserved group of Americans," Higgins added.
Discounts under the Veterans Advantage Prescription Plan could bring as much as 65% in savings, while most range in the 10 – 25% range. The cost of some generic pharmaceuticals using this discount card is often less than many insurance plan co-payments.
The Veterans Advantage Members prescription drug benefit card is not an insurance plan nor does it require any fees or co-payments, And unlike VA benefits, the Veterans Advantage plan is available to family members, both dependents and non-dependents (for example, if a father, brother, or son served).
The card comes free with every enrollment in Veterans Advantage, a $39.95 annual program (plus $3.95 for processing and handling), and includes over 20 corporate partners offering benefits in popular consumer categories such as travel, entertainment, computers/home electronics, and sports & recreation.
