Veterans Advantage to Offer Benefits Program to Troops Using USO Centers

GREENWICH, Conn. – Two of the nation’s best-known organizations serving the military community have teamed up to show support for the men and women in uniform. Veterans Advantage announced today that it will make its on-line benefits program available to active duty service members and their families through the USO’s 123 centers around the world.

Veterans Advantage is the nation’s largest card membership program that offers money-saving benefits and rewards to veterans, active duty military, retired military, and active and retired National Guard and Reservists and their families. Under the agreement, Veterans Advantage will give active duty service members and their families free access to the "members only" area of its Web site, where they can learn more about the benefits they have earned with their service. In addition, they will get the option to take advantage of the program’s on-line benefits.

Those benefits include a Veterans Advantage Prescription Drug Plan and special savings from Dell Computer, United Airlines, Amtrak, Apple Computer, Greyhound Bus Lines, ground and air shipping from DHL Holdings, and a number of other leading companies that want to honor active duty service members. Outside of the USO centers, membership in the Veterans Advantage is $59.95 annually.

Veterans Advantage founder, president and CEO Scott Higgins said, "This is just our way of saying thanks to the men and women in uniform. Top corporations that participate in Veterans Advantage will get their special military discounts and other on-line offers directly to our nation’s active duty personnel."

USO president and CEO Edward A. Powell said, "We are pleased with what Veterans Advantage is doing for the men and women in uniform who visit our centers. We are very proud that a patriotic American company such as Veterans Advantage is providing its valuable service to active duty personnel at no cost."
