United Airlines Honors America's Veterans & Their Families

Continental Airlines discount benefit expands to all United Airlines flights in 2012

United Airlines Military Veteran Discount for Veterans AdvantageUnited Continental Holdings Inc., the parent company of Continental Airlines, will soon expand its current 5% Continental.com discount benefit for Veterans Advantage members to flights booked on United.com in 2012.

In the meantime, both Continental and United Airlines-operated flights are covered by the Veterans Advantage discount, when booked directly at continental.com.

“We are delighted that our members will receive this valuable benefit from the merger of Continental Airlines and United,” said Veterans Advantage founder and CEO Scott Higgins, a Vietnam veteran. “Veterans Advantage members deserve the best, and we are pleased now the world’s #1 airline has taken a leadership position in thanking these special Americans and their families for their service to our country through this exclusive discount.”

Since 2004, Veterans Advantage members have been rewarded with a 5% discount on Continental.com bookings. Once United and Continental merge their websites in the first half of 2012, United will become the “Official Airline of Veterans Advantage” and discounts will be available at united.com. The United discount program for Veterans Advantage members will continue to be combinable with the MileagePlus frequent flyer program.

African American History Month: Honoring Former Veterans Advantage Member Bill Holloman

We hope you enjoy reading our profile of William "Bill" Holloman, a former Veterans Advantage member. Bill passed away a few years after we originally worked with him on the piece, but his legacy is alive and well today. We opened the door…and it has taken years for people to recognize our contribution to the war," he once said. MORE.
