Sites Of Distinction

In keeping with its mission, Veterans Advantage has announced its Website of Distinction Award.

"Our Sites of Distinction are awarded for excellence in content and design and a focus on respect, recognition, and rewards for US military veterans, active duty military, National Guard, Reservists and their families," said founder and CEO Scott Higgins.

This "Honor Roll" for the military and veteran community covers Web sites from all walks of life, from leading private-sector corporations, to government agencies to charitable groups. Big or small, global or local, the Veterans Advantage "Sites of Distinction" program is all about highlighting quality online resources for its members nationwide.

"The pace of our information-based society has made it increasingly important for families across America to keep up to date without having to sift through a maze of informational options that is often overwhelming," Higgins added. "This is especially true for those who served our country, who need to be current on the events and information impacting their daily life."

Sites named to the list can also place a graphic on its Web site as a signal to the veteran and military community in the U.S. and around the world that this is a distinctive site. Veterans Advantage will be updating members throughout the year as more names are added to this list, profiling the most noteworthy.

"Just as we recognize great American corporations doing extraordinary things for those who serve, we are designating Sites of Distinction as a natural extension of our mission," Higgins added. "It’s our hope that many more Web sites dedicate resources towards providing quality information relevant to those who served."
