Joint Family Protection Plan

Veteran Advantage Members and their families will have access to a nationwide network of Legal Care plan attorneys and identity theft advocates that will provide them with free and discounted care.

Upon enrollment, you will be referred to a plan attorney based on location, area of law required, and language preference. You may use as many plan attorneys, practicing any area of law, anywhere in the country as often as you like. Should you become a victim of identity theft, or even suspect that your may be, simply contact one of our identity theft paralegals who will then assist you with the restoration of your identity to its pre-theft state.

Membership includes you, your spouse, domestic partner and any dependents 25 years of age or younger.

PLAN BENEFITS

Free & Discounted Legal Services

You and your family will have access to a nationwide network of over 20,000 plan attorneys that have contracted with Legal Club to provide free and discounted legal services. Upon enrollment, you will be referred to a plan attorney based on geographic location, area of law required, and language preference. You may use as many plan attorneys, practicing any area of law, anywhere in the country as often as you like.

Free Service for Personal and Family Related Matters Provided by Plan Attorney:

• Initial phone consultation for each new legal matter (no time limit).

• Initial face-to-face consultation for each new legal matter (no time limit).

• Review of independent legal documents (6 page maximum per document, no limit to the number of new independent documents).

• Plan attorneys will prepare a free Simple Will for you and your family, as well as update the Will annually for free.

• A state specific, web based, free Living Will form is available to Members. This form can be taken to a plan attorney and completed by the attorney for free.

• Plan attorneys will help Members represent themselves in small claims court.

• Assistance in solving problems with government programs, such as INS and welfare.

• When deemed appropriate by your plan attorney, he or she will write letters on your behalf (one letter per legal matter, with no limit on the number of new legal matters).

• When deemed appropriate by your plan attorney, he or she will make phone calls on your behalf (one phone call per legal matter, with no limit on the number of new legal matters).

In many states, attorney liability may require plan attorneys to obtain a retainer from the member prior to providing some of the free member benefits.

Deeply Discounted Services for Personal and Family Related Matters:

These are eight (8) commonly used legal services for which plan attorneys have agreed to charge a one-time, deeply discounted fee.

1. Traffic Ticket Defense
2. Name Change
3. Simple Will (w/Trust)
4. Chapter 7 Bankruptcy
5. Non-Support (Spouse/Child)
6. Simple Divorce
7. Regular Incorporation
8. Personal Real Estate Closing

Costs and filing fees are additional. This program is not insurance coverage.

Guaranteed Low Hourly Rates for Personal and Family Related Matters:
Plan attorneys have contracted to never charge more than $125.00 per hour, or when appropriate, give members a 40% discount off their usual and customary hourly rate for personal and family legal care that goes beyond the free and discounted services. After the free letters, calls and consultations take place, you and your attorney will decide what course of action to take next. In many cases, you will have no choice and litigation may ensue. This is the point in time that plan attorneys charge the $125.00 hourly rate or take 40% off their customary rate for personal and family legal care.

Contingency Fee Discounts for Personal and Family Related Matters:
Attorneys often work on a contingency fee basis on cases such as personal injury and collections. This fee is usually expressed as a percentage of the amount collected or awarded. In some cases, fee maximums are set by state law. Member’s fees will be a 10% reduction of the state maximum rate or the attorney’s usual rate, whichever is lower.

Identity Theft Restoration
Privacy Advocates will:

• Issue fraud alerts with major credit reporting agencies
• Follow up with affected agencies, creditors, financial institutions
• Call, email, send documentation to state agencies, financial institutions
• Complete and mail “Fraud Packet” via certified mail
• Assist with restoration of identity to its pre-theft state

Lost and/or Stolen Credit Card Assistance
Privacy Advocates will:

• Obtain credit reports from each of the three major credit bureaus
• Cancel affected credit cards and request new cards
• Provide daily ID monitoring for 6 months to help prevent further fraud

Identity Theft Insurance
Each member is provided with $25,000 worth of Identity Theft Insurance*. This coverage will help offset some of the costs of restoring their identity to its original status.

*Identity Theft Insurance is not available in NY. Identity Theft Insurance is underwritten by a nationally recognized Insurance carrier with an “A” or better AM Best Rating. Contact Legal Club of America for more details. Restoration and Lost Credit Card Services are available to members and their eligible dependents. Insurance coverage is limited only to the member.

Eligible Family Members
Include the plan member, plan member’s spouse or domestic partner, dependent children who are under the age of 25 and any dependent individuals living in the plan member’s home such as a parent or grandparent.
