Veterans Advantage is pleased to announce that it has received an official Letter of Endorsement from Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a U.S. Department of Defense agency charged with supporting the interests of the over one million active duty National Guard and Reservists.
"The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is pleased to endorse the Veterans Advantage card program as a way for patriotic employers to show their support for those who serve, and have served our country," said Barton D. Buechner, Director, Plans, Policy and Training for ESGR.
"Given the unprecedented usage of the Reserve components since September 11, 2001, and the exemplary response of many business leaders in going "above and beyond" to support our troops, participation in the Veterans Advantage program offers a convenient and tangible way to allow both government and private enterprises to say "thank you" to our service members and to show their support for these brave "citizen soldiers" and their families," he added.
ESGR itself has also taken special steps in working with Veterans Advantage for deeper recognition of our troops returning from Operation Iraqi Freedom through the Recycle & Reward program, which raises funds to thank the troops by recycling used cell phones. Veterans Advantage is currently rolling out Recycle & Reward at major U.S. corporations, and with transportation agencies, like the New York and New Jersey MTA, and other government groups, and has joined forces with Employers United for a Stronger America (EUSA), a 501(c) 3 foundation established to provide support for Recycle & Reward and other ESGR initiatives.
More developments in the Recycle and Reward program are coming over the next few days and weeks. You can help take part in the program by spreading the word and learning how to recycle your cell phones today.
