Veterans Advantage Announces 50% Amtrak Travel Discount to America’s Veterans Through December 13, 2002

Veterans Advantage, a nationwide membership program providing private-sector benefits for Veterans and their families, announced today its members will be eligible for a new, unprecedented, 50 percent travel discount on Amtrak coach travel through December 13, 2002.
The overwhelmingly positive feedback from Veterans Advantage members, who have found past Amtrak discounts of unique value that rewards America's Veterans with big savings, are now finding this new promotion to be very popular during the active summer travel season.

Online reservations now available for Veterans Advantage
Veterans Advantage is also happy to announce that members can now book their discounted travel on www.amtrak.com. Members can make reservations online by following these steps:
- On the "Train Availability" page, select "Veterans Advantage" from the fare type selection box.
- Then, in the "Membership Discount Number" box on the Billing page, enter the 10-digit Travel Discount Code from the Veterans Advantage membership card. Do not enter any spaces or dashes.
Veterans Advantage members may also take advantage of this special fare promotion by calling Amtrak directly at 1-877-872-7245, or present their Veterans Advantage membership card at any staffed Amtrak station to receive the special fare. There are no advance purchase requirements.
Some restrictions do apply. For instance, the discount is available on Amtrak routes nationwide with the exception of the Auto Train®, Acela Express® and Metroliner® services. Members are encouraged to log onto www.amtrak.com or call 1-877-872-7245 for complete details before booking travel.
