Greenwich, CT
Veterans Advantage, a nationwide membership program providing private-sector benefits for Veterans and their families, announced today its members will be eligible for a new, unprecedented, 50 percent travel discount on Amtrak coach travel through December 13, 2002.
The overwhelmingly positive feedback from Veterans Advantage members, who have found past Amtrak discounts of unique value that rewards America's Veterans with big savings, are now finding this new promotion to be very popular during the active summer travel season.
"We are very excited to offer this exclusive benefit to our members, especially this time of year. Member activity with the past Amtrak benefits is rising and we are happy to respond to the needs of the U.S. Veterans and those who continue to serve," according to Scott Higgins, CEO & President of Veterans Advantage.
"Amtrak has been good enough to promise its help in building what is proving to be a very important program in this nation's history. We honor their commitment to Veterans Advantage with this new program," Higgins added.
Online reservations now available for Veterans Advantage
Veterans Advantage is also happy to announce that members can now book their discounted travel on www.amtrak.com. Members can make reservations online by following these steps:
Veterans Advantage members may also take advantage of this special fare promotion by calling Amtrak directly at 1-877-872-7245, or present their Veterans Advantage membership card at any staffed Amtrak station to receive the special fare. There are no advance purchase requirements.

The Amtrak discount has helped build the foundation of Veterans Advantage’s strategy to provide a wide-range of money-saving benefits for those who have served their country in any branch of service, and their family members. This includes Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard Reservists, and those on active duty. "Veterans Advantage is a national program open to all Veterans and their families that partners with corporations that want to do just that: to honor and thank Veterans and their families for their service to the country," Higgins said. Veterans Advantage members can enjoy their entire benefits package via a private 'members-only' area on www.veteransadvantage.com or through the Veterans Advantage Card Membership Program. Members can take advantage of a wide range of other benefits such as up to 10% off Dell Computers, 65% off prescription drugs, savings from major car rental companies, entertainment companies, restaurants and on over 3,000 hotels and vacation properties. |
