We hope you are joining the millions of Americans celebrating our freedoms this Independence Day holiday weekend. With news of a drawdown of forces in Afghanistan, our prayers are with the brave men and women who serve in the military, and that they may return safely to their families and loved ones.

On this 4th of July, the 235th anniversary of our independence, we thank and honor their service.

With the last Space Shuttle mission scheduled for July 8, we want to introduce you to our TopRank, Col. Doug “Wheels” Wheelock of the US Army and NASA, the commander of the International Space Station (ISS), Expedition 25. Long-time friend Mark Sullivan introduced us to “Wheels” recently, and we’re grateful he did. There’s an adage that says true success comes to those who genuinely and freely share their gifts with others. Col. Wheelock embodies that adage. He is truly an inspiring individual with a deep respect for those who serve and those who need a little extra inspiration in order to serve. Enjoy!

Earlier today we announced on our Veterans Advantage Facebook page a special limited time offer for Veterans Advantage members to save 15% on sailings in Hawaii on Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL). These sailings are on the new patriotic ship, “Pride of America.”

These sailings are available throughout 2011, but you need to place your booking before June 30, 2011 to qualify for the discount.
