9/11: Taking Time to Remember
Friday, September 10th, 20103:11 pm
Let’s all take time to recognize the ninth anniversary of 9/11. Our staff and I remember well those precarious days and months after the attacks on our country. Veterans Advantage was only a year old at the time, but we realized our work was more important and timely than ever. Please take a moment to remember those who perished on that day, and those who continue to make the ultimate sacrifice to ensure that day is not repeated.
Here’s a sampling of those we’ve honored over the years:
- HeroVet: Rick Rescorla: Hero of the Twin Towers on 9/11/2001.
- HeroVet: Pat Tillman, Inspired by 9/11, Gives Up Football and His Life.
- HeroVet: David Karnes, Always a Marine, Rushes to World Trade Center on 9/11.
- HeroVet: Brian Delate, Vietnam Veteran, 9/11 Era Filmmaker.
- HeroVet: Paul Rieckhoff, Founder of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA).
- HeroVet: Joe Grano, Wounded Vietnam Veteran, Chairman of President’s George W. Bush’s Homeland Security Council.
Also, news from the White House: President Obama and First Lady, Vice President and Dr. Biden to Commemorate 9/11 and National Day of Service and Remembrance.
